Along with her husband, Douglas Fairbanks, the golden-haired Mary Pickford was at the pinnacle of the first generation of movie royalty. This 1920s Cuban concoction does her honor. http://www.prohibitionrepeal.com/history/cocktails.asp

SERVES 1 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 ounces white rum
  • 1 ounce pineapple juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon grenadine

Directions

    Stir well with cracked ice.

    Strain into chilled cocktail glass and drop in a maraschino cherry.

Very tasty! I increased the amount of pineapple juice and it was perfect for my taste. I think this would be great using coconut flavored rum. Thanks so much, Jess4Freedom : )

    Great drink! I used white rum and also tried coconut rum and both were delicious. Sweet, smooth and tropical - thanks for sharing this recipe!

    Very good, plus it is very pleasing to look at, especially during the holiday season! I used dark rum since that is what I had, and it didn't seem to upset the balance of flavor. Made for Everyday is a Holiday tag.

    Excellent combo of flavors. I used Caribbean Rum which I thought went well with the pineapple juice. Great cocktail. Thanks. Made for Holiday Tag.
