Practically Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookies

This is a recipe from some kind of consumer reporting group. They were talking to people about the best attributes of chocolate chip cookies. This is what they came up with.

SERVES 40 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

    Preheat the oven to 375°F
  2. 2
    Mix flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl and set aside.
  3. 3
    Mix the 2 sugars with a portable mixer, gradually add the butter. Mixing first at low speed then at high speed until it's pale, light, and very fluffy.

    Add the vanilla, then the eggs gradually until mix looks creamed in not curdled.
  5. 5
    Gradually add the flour, baking soda, and salt. First mixing at low speed building up to high speed.

    Add the chocolate chips and mix briefly.
  7. 7
    Drop by Tablespoonful onto ungreased cookie sheet.
  8. 8
    Bake until the cookies are pale, golden brown.(approx 9 min).

    Remove and let them cool on a rack.

I have used this recipe a million times & I still think it's the best chocolate chip cookie recipe there is. It is the exact same recipe as the original Toll House Cookie recipe. That's why they taste so good. Thanks for posting, this will make it more handy for me when I need my chocolate chip cookie fix.

    These did turn out perfect. Perfectly round and simply delicious as choco-chips cookies are suppose to be. Didn't change a thing. Made for AU Recipeswap~

    "mmmmmmmm!" Was my instant reaction when first tasting this cookie, Loved it loved it! It's not very often I find a choc chip cookie that can do that. As I'm not much of a sweet tooth, but these certainly did. Beautiful. Now I just need to hide them from everyone else hehehe
