These are very good! I've never made sloppy joes with pork so this was a nice change. Made for Gimme 5 tag.

These joes made for a hearty meal served atop crusty dinner rolls w/Marvelous Broccoli Salad! & Chuck Wagon Potatoes as side-dishes. As we agreed & to accommodate an ingredient issue, I made them using grd pork vs shredded pork. Based on reviewer comments, I did not use the excess liquid from the tomatoes. I also opted to add garlic (a must for me) & used chili sauce for half the amt of ketchup to add an extra flavor zing. There is a lot goin on in this recipe, but it all works very well together & makes for a grown-up version of SJs (comfort food for me). Thx for sharing this tasty & sure-to-be repeated recipe w/us.

GREAT SLOPPY JOES! I did press the liquid out of the tomatoes & used slightly less than the 1/4 cup of chicken stock indicated! The shredded meat I had was frozen & from a roast I'd made last month, & it worked perfectly! Served this on homemade whole wheat buns & had an outstanding meal! Thanks, much for a keeper recipe! We thought this had great flavor. All the spices seemed to work together. Using the shredded pork is non-traditional but still tasty. The one thing we didn't like was that there was too much liquid. I would completely eliminate the chicken stock, and also completely drain the tomatoes in this recipe. Then add some of the tomato liquid if needed when cooking. Even though we served with a slotted spoon, it still had so much liquid that it soaked through our buns.
