Don't worry about using the exact fruit in the recipe: have fun and choose whatever looks good at the store or is growing on your trees! This gets more and more potent as time goes on; after three days one slice of apple will give you the giggles.

SERVES 8 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
In a small saucepan, heat 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 cup water on medium high until sugar dissolves; remove from heat.
  2. 2
In the meantime, slice the orange, apple and pear.
  3. 3
Mix all ingredients together and let stand in a tightly-sealed container or pitcher for at least 24 hours in the refrigerator before serving.

Oh my goodness!! This is delicous! I used one each of Malbec and Tempranillo and let it meld for 2 days before Thanksgiving. The only thing I forgot to buy was a whole pomegranate, but everyone agreed this is a dangerously delicous beverage. Thanks so much for posting!

Whew this is NICE!!!! All the flavors packed a punch. It was so delicious you have to be careful and not drink it too fast. This Sangria goes right to the top as a favorite. Thanks for sharing Jen, I can't wait to make it for Christmas and New Years, and Valentines, and Easter and .... well you get the gist. YUM!! Cheers ~V
