Polish Apple Pancakes

These pancakes have a unique flavor and texture that make them really something special. They have less flour than traditional pancakes so are not so cake-like. They can be eaten on the go without syrup and are very tasty. My whole family loves them.

SERVES 4 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

    In a a bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt and spice.
  2. 2
    In another bowl, lightly beat egg; add milk and oil.
  3. 3
    Add to dry ingredients and stir until smooth.
  4. 4
    Fold in apples.
  5. 5
    Pour batter by 1/2 cupfuls onto a lightly greased hot griddle and spread to form 5 inch circles.

    Turn when bubbles form.
  7. 7
    Cook the second side until golden brown and apples are tender.
  8. 8
    Sprinkle with confectioners sugar.

I'm sorry for the low review but my cakes turned into dense hockey pucks. Added baking powder mid-way and that helped somewhat.

    These were very good. I agree with other reviewers that 1 apple sliced very thin would be just right. Thanks for sharing.

    This tasted really good, but I only used two apples (5 seemed so much to me). We all think it's really delicious!

    My mom used to makes these but not the same recipe. I used 1 apple sliced very thin. 5 apples would be way to much!
