Recipe #84987 | 30 min | 10 min prep | add private note

I like this recipe because it's simple and uses ingredients I always have on hand. I got it from my dad, I can't say for sure where it originally came from, but maybe from a Betty Crocker cookbook. This dough also works well for making meat pies.

2 pizzas (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
    Heat oven to 425°F.
  2. 2
Measure ingredients (except 2nd amount of salad oil) into a bowl.

Stir vigorously until mixture leaves the side of the bowl.
  4. 4
Gather dough together and press into a ball.
  5. 5
Knead dough in bowl 10 times to make smooth then divide dough in half.
  6. 6
On lightly floured surface roll each half into a 13-inch circle.
  7. 7
    Place on pizza pan.
  8. 8

I found the recipe really easy. I should have rolled the halves into balls before rolling them out. And I used olive oil. Wife said the dough was a little bland. I think that might be from me rolling it so much or using old salt, but I will probably add spice to the dough next time. I also found that 10-15 min is about right for my oven.

I added a tablespoon of italian spices to the flour. Wow. This was SO good, and so easy to roll out. Made a thin and crispy crust. I used the doo-wangus to resize, and a '3 pizza' recipe made a 12" pizza and a cookie-sheet sized pizza.

this was a great pizza dough recipe, I didn't have any yeast left in the house, but I wanted PIZZA! So I made this and it turned out wonderful, my husband and son liked it because it wasn't doughy and you could really taste the toppings.
