Syrian bread is used in this snack. I make these all year and especially during the summer. My guests are disappointed if I don't supply these as one of our appetizers.

Directions

  1. 1
Split the pita bread into two halves.
  2. 2
Score with sharp knife, but don't cut completely through.

  5. 5
    Cool and break into pieces.

So very tasty. I scaled down to 4 pitas for our lunch today (with the kids). We used them as dippers with hummus and tzatziki and Athina melted cheese (mozz) on hers in the microwave! Much better and fresher than store-bought. How much you will be missed in our little community, Judy.

This was so easy and really very good. I like that I can make a few or a basketful as needed. I made these to serve with Judy's Antipasto Salad for her cookathon.

I used pocketless pita for a chewier result. To save time and calories, I sprayed the bread with vegetable oil spray. Very good and easy recipe.

Nice recipe! Wonderful flavor. Eat the same day you make them. They don't hold their freshness overnight (loss of flavor and crispness). Thanks for giving me an alternative to a boring cracker!
