Pita Pizza

Recipe #182870 | 15 min | 10 min prep | add private note

I found this in quick and easy style cookbook a long time ago. It literally takes only 15 minutes from start to finish to make! I made changes that my family likes and this is what I ended up with. My family really likes to make these as well and eat them. The kids have tons of fun making their own.

I have never made these before but what a hit!! I made plain cheese ones for my kids and my picky 6 year old didnt want to try it. But I made him....and he LOVED it!! He ate it up and wants it again. I added grilled chicken, red pepper flakes and bacon to the ones for me and my husband and they were delicious! A keeper!

And here I thought I was so unique and super lazy getting my pizza fix! lol. I've been making this for years and like it better than most frozen pizza's and pizzarias. It's like a thin crust. I keep browned ground beef & onions in my freezer for topping my pita pizza. Cheddar is my cheese of choice.

I make something similar to this, but with the favourite toppings of who ever I'm making them for. I did mine on the BBQ. I found that the pitas are perfect for the Q as they get a nice crispy texture to them. Makes a great grilled pizza!!! You should try it! Turn the grill on only half of your BBQ, and place the pitas on the other half.

I've been eating these for as long as I can remember eating. These days a just do Margarita pita pizzas: No sauce, just grated mozzarella, torn fresh basil, sliced italian tomatoes, a sprinkling of grated parmesan and a touch of fresh ground black pepper. Heaven.
