Pie Crust Like Snow White's

Recipe #196840 | 20 min | 20 min prep | add private note

By: SarahGourmet
Nov 20, 2006

This is the best pie crust I have ever worked with. It tastes great and it is easy to roll out and place in the pie plate.

1 pie (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
    Mix flour and salt.
  2. 2
Add shortening and blend in with a pastry cutter until crumbly, moist and looks like little white peas.
  3. 3
    Add half of the water.
  4. 4
    Mix with your hands.
  5. 5
Add more water until dough is quite sticky. Depending on your humidity that day, you may not need all of the water.
  6. 6
    Divide dough in half.
  7. 7
Sprinkle 1/2 cup or so of flour onto your table.
  8. 8
Roll the flour into the dough, adding more as necessary.
  9. 9
Roll dough into a circle, turning often.
  10. 10
    Makes two 9" rounds.
