Pet Urine Remover

Recipe #276127 | 1 min | 1 min prep | add private note

By: Purrheart #562343
Jan 3, 2008

I have used everything on the market including vinegar and dish soap. Nothing worked especially on cat urine. I have been using this recipe for years now. It works! I have 4 cats and 2 dogs, and when one has an accident I use this and it takes the smell away instantly! No more having to buy expensive removers from the store.

SERVES 1 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

  • 1 (8 ounce) bottle hydrogen peroxide

  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1-2 drop liquid dish soap

Directions

  1. 1
Mix all together gently and pour in a spray bottle.
  2. 2
Do no shake up this mix or you may have a lot of foam. I have also used a watering can this works well also.
  3. 3
Spray onto urine stain and walk away. Allow to dry. No need to rub or scrub the area. For tough odors you may have to repeat.
  4. 4
I would also check your fabric/carpet for color fastness before using due to the peroixide content. I have never had any problems with any fabric changing colors from this mix.

Amazing! Mom dog actually puked this yellow foamy stuff, my vet says it's from allergies, and I sprayed it with this stuff and before my eyes it dissappeared. Wow! It worked on general stains too, maybe not all but a few I treid it on. Thank You Purrheart.

This is the only thing, besides time, that has removed the cat spray/smell out of our living room and kids rooms. Thanks for the recipe.

OMG! This stuff is the best thing I have ever used. I tried it this weekend on a few stains that were on the carpet when we moved in. I sprayed it on the spots and just let it dry. No scrubbing or anything and when I came back to look the stains were gone! I will be keeping a bottle of this mixed at all times. If you have pets you have to try it. No more resolve for me!! Also, it's really cheap! Thanks sooooo much for the recipe!!!!

I have an older dog with incontinence. If I forget her medication, she pees, a lot.I paid $10 for this recipe online. bummer, could have got it here free. It works great!!!! I can't believe the difference in my room. I have tried everything, this works even on old spots. I pour it on out of an old yogurt container onto the spot. It starts to foam. No more odors! You can put it in a carpet cleaner and do your carpets(don't dilute). Also works on upholstery and mattresses.
