This is thought to be an aphrodisiac.

SERVES 4 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

    Add spices to a kettle along with the water, rose water and sugar.
  2. 2
    Stir mixture to dissolve sugar.
  3. 3
    Bring mixture to a boil, then reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes.
  4. 4
    Remove cardamom pods before serving.
  5. 5
    Serve with additional sugar, if desired.

A nice smooth tea, but still a little weak after 15 minutes of covered simmering, maybe my cardamom pods are old I added an extra bruised one. I did add additional white sugar as this is nice, sweet. I may try this again simmering for longer.

    Fabulous! The cardamom, rose and saffron meld together nicely. I bit expensive for most. Glad I grow my own saffron. Thanks.

    WOW - I have to admit - I wasn't quite sure what to expect with this recipe. I made it for my husband for Valentine's Day, and it was VERY tasty indeed. So much so, that it will become a "special tea" to serve guests. It's fancy AND tasty!

    My mum is Persian, but never seen her make this, wonderful tea, tastes great, and authentic too, this is my new speciality now, and I did not even learn it from mum. thank you for a great recipe.
