Perfectly Peppermint Brownies

I found this recipe on the back of the bag of York Mint Peppermint Patties (premier baking pieces) and I posted it here so that I didn't lose it. Can't wait to make these!

SERVES 36 , 1 9 x 13 inch pan (change servings and units)

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. 2
    Grease a 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking pan.
  3. 3
    Stir together cocoa and baking soda in large bowl.
  4. 4
    Stir in 1/3 cup of the melted butter.
  5. 5
    Add boiling water and stir until the mixture thickens.
  6. 6
    Stir in sugar, eggs and remaining 1/3 cup of the melted butter; stir until smooth.

    Add flour, vanilla and salt; blend completely.
  8. 8
    Stir in peppermint patties.
  9. 9
    Spread in prepared pan.
  10. 10
    Bake 35-40 minutes or until the brownies begin to pull away from the sides of the pan.

    Cool completely in pan on wire rack.

    Cut into bars.

Saw this on the Hershey website and was going to post, but here it is! Only difference is they list the amount of pepermint patties as 16 or 17 small (1-1/2 inch) ones instead of by the cup. Can't wait to try these!

    Very good brownies. I really liked the mini peppermint patties in them. The brownies are nice and moist too. Make sure you grease the pan well! The patties have a tendency to stick a LOT, even in a nonstick pan.
