Peanut butter and oats plain and simple!! One of my favorite oatmeals in the morning when I'm feeling the need for something with added protein. WW points = 4

SERVES 1 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
    Combine oats and water.
  2. 2
Microwave on high for 1 minute and stir. Return to microwave and heat on high stirring every 30 seconds until desired consistency is reached. Adding the peanut butter will thicken the oatmeal a little. I do mine for about 2 minutes and 30 seconds in my 1200 watt microwave.
  3. 3
Add natural peanut butter and stir until incorporated.

Simple and tasty breakfast - this has become part of my regular morning rotation now. I like to add a sprinkling of brown sugar (or whatever sweetner), but it's tasty without too. The peanut butter makes the oatmeal seem more substantial as well as adding some protein and flavor.

Enjoying my p.b. oatmeal right now as I write this review. Wonderful stuff here Brooke. I added a handful of raisins to the mix and 1/2 packet of Splenda as it needed just a bit of sweetening for my taste. I used the organic creamy p.b. I get at Costco. I love it!~ Made for ZaarStars.

This is a winner for me. I have oatmeal almost every morning and I use peanut butter to supply the protein. By mixing it into the cereal I can skip the toast and it's added carbs :D. The only thing I did differently was to add the peanut butter to the empty bowl and then top with the oatmeal (and a Tbsp of oat bran which I always do) and water then micro it all for 1min 20secs, I added some Splenda and stirred it up and sprinkled a touch of cinnamon on top. It's a real yumm and very healthy.
