I made this last night and it was so good! It is similar to the version that my mom makes. My dad is from Pakistan and I grew up eating some really wonderful food! I did change the recipe a bit though. I used two onions instead of one, I doubled the garlic and added a jalapeno. I also doubled the curry powder, salt, and ginger. I added a tsp of coriander, a tsp of garlic powder, a tsp of cayenne, and a tsp of garam masala. I used a can of Muir Glen fire roasted tomatoes, undrained, for the tomatoes and I used 6 good sized potatoes. I didn't use green beans because I didn't have any. Despite all the changes I am sure the recipe is great as is. I just can't seem to leave anything alone. LOL! Thanks for the inspiration! Oh, and DH absolutely loved it. Actually I couldn't keep him out of it! I grudgingly let him have the rest for lunch today.

This was a great recipe! I added picante sauce for the tomatoe and a can of rotel. I also used the garam masala I added extra of all the spices. I also added beef stock to make it have more liquid. Was very filling and good.

This is excellent! I made a few adaptations, not because I found anything wrong with the recipe, but just to use up ingredients I already had. I used 2/3 lb ground turkey and it still tasted great. I didn't dice or cook the tomatoes, just opened up a can of diced tomatoes and threw them in the mix. I used 3 small red potatoes(wish I would've used 4 or 5), and I used a can of peas because I didn't have green beans. I also added a bit of garam masala as suggested by others. With all these adaptations, I ended up with one of THE BEST meals I could've imagined. I will be making this on a regular basis!

Very good! I added a 1tsp of garam masala like a previous poster suggested. So yummy! This will be a regular item from now on.
