Oven Fried Pork Chops

Recipe #23585 | 20 min | 10 min prep | add private note

By: Lisa Bingham
Mar 28, 2002

This recipe came from the Better Homes and Gardens Cookbook. My husband is a "meat and potatoes" man, and he likes it a lot.

SERVES 4 , 4 pork chops (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Trim the fat from the meat.
  2. 2
Pour butter into a 13x9x2 inch baking pan.
  3. 3
    Combine eggs, milk, and pepper.
  4. 4
Dip the pork chops into the egg mixture.
  5. 5
Coat with stuffing mix or bread crumbs.
  6. 6
Place pork chops in the pan.
  7. 7
Bake in a 425 degree oven for 10 minutes. Turn chops. Bake about 10 minutes more or till no pink remains and juices run clear.

This is the perfect recipe for a busy working mom. I was wary at first because the recipe was so easy, but the chops came out perfect and delicious. Even my husband ( who hates chops unless they are fried) loved them.

For some reason when I read this recipe I was not excited to make. Not sure why but I think it's because it sounded so simple that I thought I wasn't going to taste as good as everyone said it was going to taste. Boy, was I wrong! It was great! I made 5 big fat pork chops in stead of the 4 the recipe required. I had to add just a little bit more of everything and I cooked them about 5-10 minutes longer. They just melted in our mouth. They meat was tender and moist. Not at what I expected since I used a cheaper cut of pork. My husband took one for lunch the next day and he said it tasted just as good as it did when it came out of the oven. My husband is already asking me when I am going to make them again. This is a keeper! Thanks Lisa!

These were fantabulous! I used some leftover dry stuffing. I just put it in the blender to make it finer and followed directions. My chops were a little thick, so I baked mine for about 20 minutes at 425. I also flipped them over for the last 5 minutes. Super tender, super delious! I will not bother with pan-frying them on the stove top again! Thanx! Pam
