We've made this two or three times and it's been a big hit! What I did was I froze actual orange juice in ziploc freezer bags because we don't have the canned juice concentrate. Also, instead of 12 ice cubes, I used four ice cubes and two big scoops of vanilla ice cream. Very cold and creamy! VERY much like a dreamsicle.

I haven't made this yet from your recipe, but experimented several years ago with the same ingredients. Was not like the orange julius either, until someone told me the secret ingredient..... it's pineapple juice. I think you will find the taste changes to the OJ's that you are looking for. Don't remember how much I used, just pour some in..........(that's my way of cooking, HA)Hope this doesn't offend you that I made this suggestion......but I know how frustrated I was trying to get just the right flavor.I have also made it just using oj,pineapple juice and vanilla icecream, mixing it in the blender. Thanks for reminding me of something I haven't made in years.

Very nice! I do think this would be delicious with a scoop of vanilla ice cream to replace the ice cubes! Very refreshing for an afternoon treat! Thanks for sharing, Looneytunesfan!
