    Sauté the scallions, celery and apples in the canola oil until tender. Let cool.
  2. 2
    Place the ground turkey in a large mixing bowl. Add sautéed items and the remaining ingredients. Shape into eight 8-ounce burgers. Refrigerate for 2 hours.
  3. 3
    Season the turkey burgers with salt and pepper. Place on a preheated, lightly oiled grill. Grill each side for 7 minutes until meat is thoroughly cooked. Let sit for 5 minutes.

    I agree with a previous poster that it's all about the side chutney. Next time I make it, I'll grate the apples as someone suggested. I didn't like biting into the chunks of apples, though I recognized the flavor the apples added so don't leave them out! I ate first without any chutney, was like, "this is good". It become 4 star for me with a side of chutney.

    I make this recipe all the time. I omit the Tabasco because I don't like it. Grate the apples on a cheese grater and you won't have to worry about the burgers falling apart. They're fabulous, even with no condiments! Well worth the extra effort.

    i was afraid to tell my husband and son there was apple in the turkey as it doesn't take much to turn them off. It was my little secret until they both said "these are really good!"What a great way to pep up healthy turkey.
