Ooey Gooey Peanut Butter and Honey Sandwiches (open Faced)

Recipe #110160 | 5 min | 5 min prep | add private note

By: Juju Bee
Feb 2, 2005

I had a friend in Middle School named Maral who was from Iran, and her mom always made really cool snacks for us whenever we got home from school. This was one of my favorites!

SERVES 2 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

  • 1 bagel, split in half (You can also use toast if you want)
  • smooth peanut butter
  • honey

Directions

  1. 1
Cut bagel in half and toast each side of the bagel until golden brown.
  2. 2
While the bagel is still warm slather on some peanut butter on each side; the peanut butter will soften quite a bit (warning: MESSY!).
  3. 3
Drizzle Honey on top of the peanut butter then do the same thing to the other side of the bagel and enjoy!

My mom always mixed in just a little butter or margerine too- mix it all up together, then spread on- my oldest son who doesn't like peanut butter loves this!

This is how I like it: spread plenty of peanut butter on toast while warm, scraping so you get toast crumbs mixed in with the peanut butter. Add honey (1 part honey to 2 parts PB), MIX IT WITH THE PEANUT BUTTER with your knife, then spread over entire surface of toast. Yes, it's an art!!

YUM I love this combo. I usually add cinnamon and sugar for a little sweet spicy crunch.
