Ooey Gooey Butter Cake

Truly addictive dessert with the best flavor. My mother got the recipe about 20 years ago from another woman at a potluck picnic. She actually carried copies of the recipe with her because so many people always ask for it!

SERVES 12 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

    Mix cake mix, melted butter and one egg.
  2. 2
    Pat into 13x9 inch pan.
  3. 3
    In a separate bowl beat cheese until fluffy.
  4. 4
    Add 2 remaining eggs to cheese and mix well.
  5. 5
    Add powdered sugar and beat until lumps are gone.
  6. 6
    Pour this mixture over cake in pan.
  7. 7
    bake at 350 for 30-45 minutes or until topping is golden.
  8. 8
    Allow to cool somewhat to set topping (slides off when warm).

Oh goodness! Very rich and delish. This so easy to make and tastes great! It did not last long. I am going to use a lemon cake mix next and will update this with comments on that!

    This is sooooooooo good! My husband hates desserts generally ate a pretty big piece before saying it was too sweet lol So that says a lot that he ate that much! I actually found this exact same recipe on the cream cheese box (Kroger brand). I wanted something for dessert and this was what I picked! Amazing!

    Yummy! We only used half the powdered sugar so that it wouldn't be too sweet. Everyone loved it - especially my husband.

    When I have the girls to my house for coffeetime this is the recipe they request most often. I think the reason is because it's "SO DARN GOOD" thats why!!!!!! And it just cant get any easier to make.
