I couldn't find my mom's/grandma's recipe for gingersnaps when I wanted to make cookies to mail in a care package to my boyfriend, so I used this recipe instead. I substituted margarine for shortening because I didn't have any of the latter, and baked for twelve minutes. These are perfect! Although the dough didn't quite taste right, these cookies taste exactly like the ones I wanted. I might have to make more because I don't know if I want to send these away!

These were absolutely wonderful. I baked mine for about 8 minutes for a soft, chewy cookie. I especially liked the sweet, spicy taste. These is a keeper. Thank you so much!
