Oatmeal Raisin Walnut Chocolate Chip Cookies

Recipe #196504 | 1½ hours | 15 min prep | add private note

This is my improved version of the "Best-Ever Chocolate Chip Cookies" recipe card I received in the mail years ago. Now they really are the best!

SERVES 48 , 48 cookies (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
In a small bowl mix flour, baking soda and cinnamon.
  2. 2
In a large mixing bowl beat butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla.
  3. 3
At a low speed, beat in flour mixture until blended.
  4. 4
Stir in ground walnuts, oats, chocolate chips and raisins.
  5. 5
Cover with plastic wrap and chill for 1 hour.
  6. 6
    Preheat oven to 350.
  7. 7
    Grease 2 baking sheets.
  8. 8
Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Place balls 2 inches apart on prepared baking sheets. Flatten each cookie slightly (The bottom of a mug works).
  9. 9
Bake cookies until lightly browned around the edges, 10 to 12 minutes.
  10. 10
Transfer to flattened brown paper bags or wire racks to cool.
  11. 11
This dough also freezes well. Freeze dough balls on a cookie sheet and then put them in a ziploc bag in the freezer until ready to bake!

Fabulous recipe! I would not change a thing. I bake a lot and this one of my most requested cookie recipes.

These should be called Kitchen Sink cookies because they have everything but the kitchen sink in them Delicious by the way! I didn't grind the nuts. Love them in lg. chunks. These don't last long, so make a double batch like I did!

Very nice tasting cookies, & they are the best! They don't, however, last very long, & I can't figure out why! The only thing I changed was the amount of raisins ~ Once I get my hands in the raisin bag, they just seem to pour out [I used 1 1/2 cups, just so you know], along with another 1/2 cup of chips! Thanks for your recipe!

These are delicious. Oats in a bikky (Aussie for cookie) are always a favourite for me. Also love the cinnamon taste, it really compliments the saltana's, chocolate and walnuts. When asked how many stars my 2 1/2 year old daugher held up two hands and declared 10! A keeper for us.
