Simple but delicious. My favorite thing about this muffin is that it's very versatile. It could be eaten for breakfast, as a snack, with dinner instead of bread or biscuits, or as dessert. I often buy buttermilk for other recipes and have a lot left so this is a good recipe to use up the leftover buttermilk. Thanks for sharing!

Very good recipe. Makes a perfect dozen. I added vanilla and 2 tsp chinese 5 spice. I also added 3 Tbs of wheat germ to increase the fiber and it turned out well. This is a great basic recipe to tweak to your tastes. Next time i think i will add cardamum, nutmeg and cinnamon.
