A wonderful, delicious bar! The molasses taste really adds to them. Like other reviewers, I think I would use less chocolate chips next time. Thanks for posting

I have made these bars the last three weekends in a row. The were wonderful every time..I made them the way they were written the first time, except I didn't have any molasses. So I used corn syrup in place of it. I don't think it hurt the bars at all, but I am sure that it makes them taste good..just can't find molasses where I live. The second time I made thses bars I used mini M & M's..That worked out just as well. The last time I made them I went without chips or M&M's. My boys gobbled them up and asked when I was going to make them next. This is a winning recipe! Five stars *****

I'm eating one of these bars, warm out of the oven, as I type this. The flavor is just delicious. I made 2 small changes to the recipe - I used less choc chips than what is called for to reduce the amount of sugar AND I used one egg and unsweetened applesauce instead of 2 eggs. These are so yummy... thank you for posting.
