This is one of my mom's recipes. I think she got it from a Good Housekeeping magazine. I always take this to pot-lucks. And always go home with an empty pan and many requests for the recipe.

SERVES 12 -16 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
For the crust, mix flour, butter and nuts until crumbly, press into 9x13 inch pan and bake at 350° for 20 minutes.
  2. 2
    Cool completely.
  3. 3
Beat cream cheese and powdered sugar on high with a mixer until smooth.
  4. 4
Fold in half the whipped topping.
  5. 5
    Spread over cooled crust.
  6. 6
Mix the puddings with milk, beat slowly with mixer until smooth (2 minutes).
  7. 7
Spread on top of cheese layer.
  8. 8
Let stand a few minutes, then spoon remaining whipped topping over top and spread carefully.
  9. 9

Delish! The bottom layer tastes like pecan sandies and the other layers are like a creamy, dreamy trip to heaven! Thank you very much!

Yummy — the kids loved this one. My mom use to make it too and it seemed to always show up at the potlucks. I did not think it was under this name. But this is definitely it. I like this version with the mix of vanilla and chocolate puddings better than the ones that call for two chocolates. The shaved topping adds a great festive touch too. Rich and delicious. The kids are already looking forward to the next occasion to make this.

Doesn't the name date the recipe!!! My mother made this when I was young to take to her Euchre card party nights. Thought about it for some reason while researching recipes tonight...great memories. WIll have to make next weekend.

I was just going to post this recipe when I saw you had already done so. This is a family favorite that we've been making for at least 15 years. It is a very rich dessert, so a little goes a long way. YUM!
