My Orange Roast Chicken

    Wash and clean the chicken, pat dry.

    Mix the soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic and salt and pepper.
  3. 3
    Place the whole chicken in a gallon zip lock bag.
  4. 4
    Add the soy preparation to the bag and seal.
  5. 5
    Place in fridge for 1 hour.

    Preheat oven to 350°F.
  7. 7
    Peel and halve the onions.
  8. 8
    Quarter the orange.
  9. 9
    Remove chicken from bag and place in a roasting pan.
  10. 10
    Save the soy preparation.
  11. 11
    Place the onion halves and orange quarters in the chicken cavity.
  12. 12
    Salt and pepper the outside of the chicken well.
  13. 13
    Place the "stuffed" chicken in the preheated oven.
  14. 14
    Place the soy preparation in a small saucepan and heat over medium heat until boiling.

    Add salt and pepper to taste.

    Turn off heat and use warm to baste.

    Baste the chicken with this mixture every 15 minutes until the chicken is cooked through.

    Cook until juices run clear and meat is no longer pink.

This was a very simple recipe with a great taste. The chicken was moist. I would have given it 5 stars but there was one young guest that did not care for the citrus taste.

    It is very good and so easy to prepare sooo tasty I love the orange and soy taste I served this at our church get together they really loved it I got the whole chickens on sale at Sam's club two to a bag. I have even used chicken parts for this recipe my hubby loved the whole chicken. Thanks this was very helpful as I've trying to find a recipe using orange.

    Very simple to make and delicious to eat! I love the flavor combination of the oragnes and the soy sauce.

    I absolutely loved this as did the rest of my family. I eliminated the marinating step due to time but felt that it was delicious just the same.
