Most Delicious Garlic Cheese Bread

This recipe is not going to help me keep my girlish figure, but it is soooo delicious! You can adjust the ingredient amounts to your liking and make it your own. I've always wondered why my garlic cheese bread at home never tasted quite as good as it does at a restaurant. I think it's the mayonnaise and the freshly minced garlic.

SERVES 8 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Slice or halve the bread and brush one side of slices, or cut side of halves, with olive oil.
  2. 2
Place the bread under the broiler until it starts to look toasted.
  3. 3
    Remove.
  4. 4
Mix the garlic, mayonnaise, Parmesan, and salt together.
  5. 5
    Spread over the bread.
  6. 6
Place the bread back under the broiler until the tops are nice and bubbly and beginning to brown.
  7. 7
Garnish with parsley flakes (or not).

If I could give this recipe 10 stars, I would - my family loved this recipe - They too commented that it was the best garlic bread they had ever tasted. We loved this - I think the "real" mayo does the trick. I used fresh parsley and fresh garlic - what a fabulous taste! Thanks for sharing - this is my new garlic bread recipe!

WOW...this garlic cheese bread was absolutely amazing!! I made four loaves to bring to a party and they were the first thing gone! I saved one for me and my boyfriend for dinner that night and it was gone by the next day. He told me I should've saved another loaf for ourselves! I used cheddar cheese as well as parmesan and the taste was amazing. This recipe took very little time to prep and broil. It was also very easy! Thanks for such a great recipe. I will always be making my garlic cheese bread this way from now on.

Ginny, I really hate you for sharing this recipe!!! I am never going to be able to serve any other garlic bread as long as I live because of you now! Plus, our trim waistlines are a thing of the past now... Really, really decadant cheesy garlic bread... I only used half a loaf of French bread for the two of us, so I halved all the ingredients. At first, I thought the bread was going to get a little too crispy from broiling it first and then broiling it once again with the topping, but I was wrong. It turned out soft in the middle with a great crunch on the edges...with that oh so creamy topping... I am ashamed to admit we ate the whole half loaf before we even finished our pasta... I knew it was GREAT when my BF took one bite, turned to me and said "This is the most delicious bread you have ever made!"... so it really does live up to its name! Thanks so much for sharing!!!

I downsized this recipe to just a few slices of baguette to use as part of an appy platter. The ingredients are simple and blended well as a compliment to the toasted bread. Great recipe.
