Banana softens and moisturizes. If you have an oily skin replace the honey and water for yogurt.

1 facial mask (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Mash the banana, add the honey, oats and some water to get a good consistency, use your own judgment.
  2. 2
Spread the banana mix on to a damp face and neck, put cucumber slices on your eyelids and relax for 15 to 20 minutes.
  3. 3
    Rinse off with lukewarm water.

I have an 8-month-old who loves bananas... so jarred baby food was all I had. It still worked wonderfully! Thanks for the recipe.

This contributed to a lovely bit of self-indulgence over the weekend. I guess I was just looking for an excuse to get 20 minutes to myself - I shooed everyone out of my room. Whipped up the mask, and lay back to enjoy. I did rub it into my skin a bit before rinsing off, as I felt the oats would be a good exfolliant.

Both reviewers are right in saying that this is a rather messy facial, never thought to mention that, because I use this lying back in the bath and when it dribbles of my face I just put more on. So for everybody who is looking for a stay on the face facial, this is not the one for you, the banana will be slippery, even when you make it thicker.

This was really refreshing! I made it using a combo of 1 tbsp. honey, 1 mashed banana(large sized), 4 1/2 tbsps. powdered oats and 1 tbsp. low-fat milk as a substitute for water. After mixing everything together, I refrigerated this for about an hour, or I guess a little over an hour and then applied it onto my damp face and neck. I think refrigerating this is a good idea as when you apply this cold, you really feel refreshed. If your tired like I was, you wake up and you feel re-charged! Applying this was a slightly messy job, but the pack smelt very nice, and once applied, it felt very refreshing. I kept it on for 20 minutes before rinsing it off with water. Once I rinsed it off, my skin not only felt smooth and soft, but also I felt refreshed and I felt I was looking fairer! LOL. The banana in this really really moisturises the skin beautifully. I think I should make this a regular This made 2 facial masks! I'll be using some for my mom tomorrow and gifting the rest to a friend! Thank You, Annelies. This was truly refreshing, much needed and really good!
