This is what I came up with for my traditional Irish recipes which called for "mixed spice" after posting a question in the 'Zaar forums. It works for me, and my baked goods come out tasty.

4 tablespoons (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
    Mix all ingredients together.
  2. 2
    Store in airtight glass jar.

This is a tasty combination! I too needed it for a Zaar recipe - Boiled Patty Cakes - this one from Australia. Yours was a winning combination in my book - not as exotic as the others posted. In my opinion it is definately suited for baking desserts. I will be using again. Thanks Felix4067.

I'm learning myriad of mace applications. Every kitchen shd have its own Signature Blend of spices, even several, depending on whether savory, picquant, sweet, etc. and I like the quality of suggested basic options for the home cook to explore. Wonder what popular mix has highest # ingred's? Maybe Garam Masala?
