I wanted something more than the usual box mix. This was quick, but had too much sauce. It does thicken up upon standing, but I would use more noodles next time. I added 1 tsp Worc. sauce and used sharp cheddar cheese. The mac 'n chz hater did like this! I think she's sick of the box mix. I cooked it for 9 min at step 7, but the noodles were overcooked. All in all, a great dish. Dh liked it too. Oh, and I used the same 2.5 ltr dish and it didn't boil over. Go figure!

nice but a little flat in taste and a bit too much sauce(probably my fault though). i added some parmesan to give it a twist. bit more mustard would be great.. all in all easy to make and a great idea! will do it again, only spicier!

Great kid-friendly one dish recipe! Very mild flavor. I used a 2.5 ltr Corning Ware dish and it boiled over in step 4, so watch carefully. The macaroni wasn't tender after step 7, probably due to the boil over, so I added about a cup more milk and kept cooking. The result was very creamy and mild. Added a bit more salt and chopped the onion very finely to hide it from the kids. Homemade mac and cheese in about the time of making the old blue box but with no wierd orange color. Thanks, Chris, we'll be making this again!
