Haven't tried this either. Tell me about it!

1 hamburger (change servings and units)

Ingredients

  • 1 hamburger bun with sesame seeds
  • 1/2 additional hamburger bun
  • 1/4 lb ground beef
  • 1 dash salt
  • 1 tablespoon kraft thousand island dressing
  • 1 teaspoon finely diced onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped lettuce
  • 1 slice American cheese
  • 2-3 dill pickle slices

Directions

  1. 1
With a serrated knife, cut the top off the extra bun half, leaving about a 3/4-inch-thick slice.
  2. 2
That will be the middle bun of your sandwich.
  3. 3
Place the three bun halves on a hot pan or griddle, face down, and toast them to a light brown.
  4. 4
Set aside, but keep the pan hot.
  5. 5
Divide the ground beef in half and press into two thin patties slightly larger than the bun.
  6. 6
Cook the patties in the hot pan over medium heat for 2 to 3 minutes on each side.
  7. 7
    Salt lightly.
  8. 8
build the burger in the following stacking order from the bottom up: bottom bun, half of dressing, half of onion, half of lettuce, American cheese, beef patty, middle bun, remainder of dressing, remainder of onion, remainder of lettuce, pickle slices, beef patty, top bun.

Absolutely perfect! Followed directions exactly except: used copycat Big Mac sauce (Big Mac Sauce - Copycat - Dairy Free). Coupled with copycat McD's fries (rcp #151111) and a coke and your got yourself a homemade Big Mac Meal YAY! (and it costs a fraction of their price )

Definitely use the Big Mac Copycat sauce recipe. It tastes JUST like the "special sauce". Do not use the thousand island dressing. It will not be authentic. I have made homemade Big Macs before and the sauce makes the burger.
