This is my favorite tilapia recipe. I love to steam some asparagus and serve it with the fish with some of the sauce. I usually don't have green onions on hand, so I use either dried minced onion (I let the cheese mixture sit while the fish is cooking) or shallots.

Thanks for the recipe Crabbycakes! Yum! I used shallots instead of green onions, but otherwise made as written. Very nice. Smelled great too!

I'm new at cooking Tilapia and found this recipe very good. I had a little less than one pound of fish but still used the same amount of cheese topping and it turned out great. I baked the fish for about 15 minutes and then put it under the broiler for 5 minutes to brown the cheese. The only change I would make is to reduce the amount of butter to 2 T. (personal preference)and maybe try it with fresh basil. Very nice flavor and easy to prepare.

WOW! Outstanding flavor for a mild fish like tilapia. My fillets were thin, so I baked them the minimal time, and the sauce baked on nice and golden and quite delish. Of the 7 fillets we had, DH inhaled 5, good thing the kids had made other plans. Will most definitely be making again so the kids can savor as well.
