Liza's Apple Fritters

Can also can make Fried apple rings slice 1/8 inch thick dip into batter then fry. Try it with pears as well. Use Delicious Jonathan or Granny Smith Apples.

SERVES 10 , 20 fritters (change servings and units)

Ingredients

  • 2 apples, peeled and diced
  • 1/4 cup raisins, soaked in rum (optional)

Batter

for frying

  • Crisco or oil

Topping

Directions

    Heat oil to 350 degrees enough to deep fry the fritters.

    Mix dry ingredients of the batter.
  3. 3
    Mix wet ingredients together add to dry ingredients.
  4. 4
    Add apples and raisins if using to batter.

    Carefully drop spoonfuls into oil.
  6. 6
    Fry till golden brown 3-5 minutes.

    Roll into powdered sugar.
  8. 8
    Serve with a scoop of your favorite ice cream.
