This is a formula or fix for setting up jam or jellies that did not set!

9 cups (change servings and units)

Ingredients

  • 8 cups jam or jelly, un-set
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup liquid pectin (such as Certo)

Directions

  1. 1
    Place the un-jelled mixture in a saucepan.
  2. 2
    Add 1/2 cup sugar.
  3. 3
    Bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
  4. 4
    Then add 1/2 cup of lemon juice and 1/2 cup liquid pectin.
  5. 5
    Return the mixture to a boil.
  6. 6
    Boil for 4 minutes only.
  7. 7
    Pour into freshly washed & sterilized hot jars.
  8. 8
    Seal with lid or wax.

This really fixed a problem! I had made strawberry jam that did not set-it slid right off the toast! Now my jam is set up just like it should be. Thanks RecipeMonster!

    Ok I have to take back my previous comment. I just didn't give it enough time. When I got home yesterday it my peach jam was set perfectly. Yes, it is like cement. Thanks!
