This is one of my all time FAVORITE sandwiches. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Onions and olives go together well with the mayo in this recipe... YUMMO! The Finger Roll recipe is GREAT around the holidays and for baby and bridal showers, graduations, weddings, parties, and family get togethers. Just omit the lettuce if making the Finger Rolls. Each can of tuna will make 3-4 finger rolls, depending on how full you make them, and how big the rolls are. You can double or triple this recipe, according to how many Finger Rolls you need. Try some of my other delicious sandwiches: Linda's Ham Salad Sandwich (Sandwiches) or Finger Rolls Linda's Egg Salad Sandwich (Sandwiches) or Finger Rolls Linda's Bean and Mayonnaise Sandwich (Sandwiches)

2 -3 sandwiches OR 3-4 finger rolls (change servings and units)

Ingredients

  • 1 (7 ounce) can solid white tuna, packed in water, drained well

  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise, add more, until desired consistency
  • 10 green olives, finely chopped
  • 1/2 medium onion, finely chopped (optional)
  • lettuce (optional)
  • 4-6 slices bread, for 2-3 sandwiches or 3-4 finger rolls, for finger sandwiches

Directions

  1. 1
Flake the tuna between your fingers, and add mayonnaise. Mix well.
  2. 2
Add olive and onion. Mix well.
  3. 3
I put extra mayonnaise on the bread if making a sandwich.
  4. 4
    Put lettuce on bread.
  5. 5
Add tuna mixture, and top with bread, or stuff into roll, filled to your liking.
  6. 6
Serve with dill pickles and chips-- Can't be beat!

Wow this is a great twist to your old tuna sandwich! I used 2 green onions minced for the optional chopped onion, I also aded a generous sprinkling of dillweed. Served it open face on toasted and buttered cracked wheat toast. A polish dill pickle and BBQ kettle chips on the side. Now, I am not a sandwich person for lunches, and I ADORED this!!! Very, very good and very satisifying.

I just got done making this recipe as finger rolls for a shower I am having today, and just sampled one of these. I have to tell you, this takes tuna rolls to a whole new level. Love the flavor and saltiness of the olives, and the onion is just enough to add more flavor, but not overpower the tuna. Love it Linda! Thanks so much for sharing this gem of a recipe with us!

Nothing better than New England Style Hot Dog Rolls/Buns (For Lobster Rolls Etc.) grilled, then filled with a little lettuce and this filling! I ate the first one just about whole it was so good, then made myself another just because, well, because I wanted to! I had old fashioned kettle chips and dill pickles on the side and an ice cold Diet Coke to wash it down. Lunch couldn't have been better!
