Lee's Fruit Salad

Recipe #244177 | 15 min | 15 min prep

This was served at a little sandwich shop that was located in the office building where I used to work. During the summer I make this several times a week - it's so delicious and refreshing! I like it with red grapes, but green will work as well!

SERVES 4 -6 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Cut the watermelon into small cubes, or make balls using a melon baller.
  2. 2
    Slice the strawberries.
  3. 3
Cut each of the grapes in half.
  4. 4
Mix all fruits in a bowl.
  5. 5
Stir the sugar and cinnamon into the orange juice until both are dissolved. Placing in a jar and shaking works well for this too (the amount of sugar and cinnamon may be adjusted to your personal taste).
  6. 6
Pour the juice over the fruit and stir until well coated. You may not use all of the juice mixture, but don't use too little - make sure all of the fruit is well coated.
  7. 7
    Chill well.

Yummy! Last night I had everything on hand for this light delicious salad and it went together very quickly. For breakfast this morning, I added some fresh pineapple and blueberries to the leftovers which was also good. Thanks loof for a freshing treat. Made for Zaar Stars tag.

We made this salad while camping and had it two ways. The first was with the fruit listed in addition to bananas, blueberries and peaches. The second day we had with the fruit listed and raspberries. Good both days ... a bit too much juice but still tasty. Thanks

What a wonderful refreshing salad. We enjoyed it with our lunch today. I did cut the recipe in half and used the green grapes. The slight cinnamon flavor really makes this an unusual fruit salad. I could see using a variety of different fruits. This is a keeper. Thanks for posting.

The colors of deep red, red, and pink are so pretty in this yummy fruit salad. I don't know who Lee is, but this is so light and refreshing we'd love to say thank you! We used red seedless grapes, seedless watermelon, and fresh strawberries. And don't worry about 'too much juice'... It's delicious to drink. The cinnamon adds a wonderful flavor.
