I have been looking for a Korean potato recipe like my favorite Korean restaurant. I found it online and tried it and it was just what I was looking for!

SERVES 4 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
    Rinse potatoes to remove starch.
  2. 2
Heat pan and add olive oil. Add potatoes and garlic and cook until the potatoes look a little translucent, then add the onion. Keep stirring.
  3. 3
Add water, soy sauce, sugar, corn syrup and mix and simmer over medium heat for about 10 minutes until liquid is evaporated. If it needs more water, add some.
  4. 4
When potato is cooked take off stove and add 1 T of sesame oil and a sprinkle of sesame seeds.

My husband lived in Korea and said this was just like he had them in Korea. I didn't have corn syrup so I put 2 T of sugar instead. Was really great. Thanks

These are very good. We enjoyed the little bit of sweetness the corn syrup gives in contrast to the soy sauce. I also liked the texture of the cooked potatoes. Thank You for sharing. Made for the Unrated Asian tag game 2009.

Made 1/2 the recipe as a side dish with Bulgogi (Korean Grilled or Broiled Beef). They fried up nice and brown and the flavor was delicious! Made for Unrated Asian Recipe Tag Game.

These were very good. I didn't have corn syrup so I used maple syrup instead, still my whole family enjoyed them. Made for Asian Forum Unrated Recipe Tag Event.
