I just discovered Kiwi and bananas go together very well. This is pretty versatile-the banana can be adjusted for how thick you like your shakes. I'm still experimenting, so let me know how to improve this.

SERVES 2 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups ice
  • 1-2 kiwi (or more if you love kiwi)
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1-2 bananas (used for taste and thickening)

Directions

  1. 1
Throw this all in a blender and pulse and/or just puree the heck out of it until you have the consistency you like.
  2. 2
    Hope you enjoy!

Delicious! I love when something so easy tastes so good and is so healthy for you. I used 1 kiwi and 1 large banana, along with about a 1/4 cup of nonfat yogurt and some splenda. About 170 calories for a full glass of delicious! I can't wait to try other fruit combinations. (After I wrote this, I just spilled half of it all over my table! Booo... now I have to go get more bananas!)

Wow. Honestly, I thought I'd like this. But I didn't realize I'd love this. I used 2 kiwis and a frozen banana. I whirred that together first and then added the ice. I also added a little bit of splenda. This had wonderful flavor and texture.

I used 1 kiwi and 1/2 a banana (3 year old DS wanted 1/2 a banana). I used about a teaspoon of splenda instead of sugar, and 3/4 cup crushed ice. I wanted more when I was done!!!!! Next time I think if I use a full cup of ice, it will still have plenty of flavor. Thanks for posting a healthy, delicious summer treat!
