It's-easier-than-making-tacos Salad (taco Salad)

Recipe #102234 | 30 min | 20 min prep | add private note

I've always loved tacos but I think the assembling part can be a pain, especially if I'm making mine and the kids' because they were too small to make their own. Once I had Taco Salad this way, I never made tacos again! (Salsa pictured in my photo is Zesty Salsa for Canning) I have found that squeezing some lime juice over the prepared salad makes it even better! YUM!!

SERVES 4 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Brown hamburger (I use the microwave) and drain.
  2. 2
Add taco mix and water, mix.
  3. 3
Heat thoroughly, about 2 minutes in the microwave, stirring once.
  4. 4
    Layer ingredients on each plate.
  5. 5
I use the following order: chips (crunched up), meat, cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, black olives, taco sauce and sour cream.
  6. 6
Use whatever taco toppings you enjoy.
  7. 7
    Mix and eat.

I made half a recipe and it was just right for the two of us. Great little salad. Quick and easy to do. Served it with Wholly Guacamole.

Delicious! Organic Romaine lettuce fresh from the garden, organic beef and organic raw cheese made this extra tasty and extra healthy! I also added fresh chopped tomatoes, black olives, sour cream and Black Bean & Corn Salsa, which gave it the perfect kick. Served over Garden of Eatin' organic corn chips. And completed the meal with fresh, homemade Mango Sorbet...perfect ending to a perfect meal!

This is wonderful! During my Girl Scout days we would cook this over an open fire and called them Girl Scout Tacos. I also add a 15-oz can of Ranch Style Beans to the meat. Thanks for posting!

this is so much easier than tacos and tastes the same....I made this for a pot luck and it went over well. I added salsa to the meat mixture and simmered it until it cooked down. Thanks for the recipe.
