Italian Turkey Sausage and Peppers With Bow Tie Pasta

I just threw this together one night with ingredients I had on hand. We loved the flavor and it's now a favorite after work meal.

SERVES 4 -6 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

    Saute onion, peppers and pepper flakes in olive oil until onions start to brown.
  2. 2
    Add garlic, salt, pepper, basil and oregano. Set aside.
  3. 3
    Prick sausage links with a fork.
  4. 4
    Saute in skillet with a little olive oil over medium heat until brown.
  5. 5
    Add wine vinegar and canned tomatoes (with liquid).
  6. 6
    Add the sautéed vegetable mixture.
  7. 7
    Cover and simmer for 20 minutes.
  8. 8
    Meanwhile cook pasta al dente.
  9. 9
    Add cooked pasta to sausage and pepper mixture.
  10. 10
    Stir and serve.

Followed recipe excactly, except for using chopped roma tomatoes from the garden and a little water. Delicious!

    We loved this meal! I used fresh peppers, basil and oregano from our garden. And I used whole wheat penne pasta. Thank you for the great recipe!

    Spices are everything and this recipe falls in that catagory. Very easy and quick. I will make again maybe with some chicken breast. Loved it thank you.
