Indonesian Sesame Noodles

Recipe #124567 | 10 min | 10 min prep | add private note

By: FlemishMinx
Jun 3, 2005

There are already numerous sesame noodles posted here on this site, but this one seems to differ slightly from them all. We found the more we ate from this dish, the more we liked it. To be served at room temperature, or chilled. Time to cook (and bring to room temperature) the noodles is not included.

SERVES 4 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
In a medium bowl, combine the peanut butter, soy sauce and water; whisk until completely smooth (if you use crunchy peanut butter, it won't get entirely smooth).
  2. 2
Add the vinegar, sesame oil, sugar and cayenne and whisk until thoroughly blended.
  3. 3
Add green onions to the noodles, then mix in the sauce; toss to coat well.
  4. 4
It is now ready to serve!

This was ok. Made with soba noodles. There didn't seem to be enough sauce for the noodles. If I make this again I think I'll double the sauce. Made for Zaar Chef Alphabet Soup Game.

This wasn't too bad. My husband and I thought the peanut butter taste was a little strong, but overall it was pretty good. I think next time I will use less peanut butter and maybe more cayenne. It was definately simple and easy to make though. Thanks for posting.

Quick & Easy to make: Just my style in cooking! I used more green onion, and about half teaspoon of cayenne pepper (we like it spicy!). Also, to spruce it up, I added sliced dried apricots and chicken breast chunked (left overs). Yummy!

Awesome! I liked the slight tanginess from the vinegar and sugar. We ate the noodles at room temperature and they were fantastic! I doubled the green onions for some added crunch. I garnished w/ green onion tops and some sesame seeds. Thanx for posting this. I'll make these again.
