Iced Sweet Mint Tea

Recipe #91292 | 25 min | 5 min prep | add private note

If you enjoy having a soothing, refreshing glass of iced tea in the summertime, I hope you will try my version of sweet mint tea. I grew up drinking mint tea and still enjoy it so very much today. If you don't care for sugar in your tea, just leave it out, it will still be just as satisfying.

SERVES 8 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
In large tea pot (or two small tea pots) pour boiling water over tea bags and mint and allow to steep for 20 minutes.
  2. 2
Place sugar in 2-quart pitcher (that will tolerate some heat).
  3. 3
Pour freshly brewed tea (minus mint and tea bags) into sugar and stir until sugar is dissolved.
  4. 4
Place in refrigerator until ready to serve.
  5. 5
To serve, pour into tall glasses over ice.
  6. 6
    Serve with lemon slices.
  7. 7
    Serves 8.

This is another fabulous "Bev" recipe! Made this for our 4th of July cookout and we loved it! It is so refreshing and the mint added so much. Used a little less than a cup of Splenda for the sweetening, otherwise made as directed. Thank you so much, Bev for sharing all your wonderful recipes!

Excellent recipe, Bev! My grandmother used to make something similar while I was growing up, and waking up this morning to an already 80-plus degree day, I found myself craving some. I'll use this recipe all summer. Thanks!

We are having a hot summer and this is so refreshing. Damon and I sat outside last night and drank 2 glasses. I will use this recipe all summer long, mine never had the right taste, now it does, thanks Bev!
