This was exactly what I was looking for when I typed in Hungarian dumplings. My friend from Hungry has made them for me several times and I loved them. The same goes for this recipe. It was so easy to make. I don't know what a spaetzel maker is, but my friend uses a flat metal cheese grater and lays it over the top of the boiling water. She drops the dough on it and rubs it through the holes. Today we served a homemade chicken gravy over the top. Yum!

I didn't wait 10 minutes and mix again , I just starting making and they turned out great. I used my giant grill spatula with holes in it as a makeshift spaetzle maker and it worked well, just spooned batter on to it ,held it over the pot and pressed it through with a solid spatula. All done in 10 minutes! Perfect served with AudreyM's chicken with creamy paprika sauce.

It was very simple to make. Just drop dough into boiling water using 2 teaspoons, and break off little pieces. EXCELLENT with Authentic Hungarian Goulash by sugarpea.
