Houston's Spinach and Artichoke Dip

Recipe #52556 | 35 min | 10 min prep | add private note

I try to avoid using "To Die For" as a description, but Houston Steak House's baked Spinach and Artichoke Dip is the best of the best! Houston's serves it hot with tortilla chips, veggies, sour cream and salsa. Recipe courtesy of Houston's Restaurant.

SERVES 20 , 4 cups (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
    Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. 2
Place Romano cheese in a food processor.
  3. 3
While running, drop garlic in the feed tube.
  4. 4
Start the machine and add spinach, artichokes, cream cheese and eggs, process until thoroughly blended.
  5. 5
Turn into a casserole dish and fold in Mozzarela.
  6. 6
Bake 20-25 minutes or until heated through.

This recipe was DELICIOUS! For serving, we cut slices of a baguette, brushed them with olive oil, and baked them for about 10 minutes while we were preparing the dip.

It's a decent recipe but it's not even close. I've seen this same recipe posted about a dozen times on other internet sites and it's not right. I make the exact same thing they make at the resteraunt and you're missing about 6 ingredients. Cream cheese doesn't even go in this, let alone flavored. But I'm sure this recipe is very good. It looks good, and quick. But it's not the same as the Houstons. Maybe you have a different Houston's? I dont know. But like I said, this isnt the recipe. Sorry!

Hi Mom! I made this dip the other day and since my guests "hoovered" it in about 20 seconds, I'd say it was a huge success! My artichoke hearts weren't marinated, so I added a dollop of extra-virgin olive oil, cracked pepper and green Tabasco . Two thumbs up!

I used fresh spinach and doubled the mozzarella in this recipe. Pulverizing the spinach in the food processor gave this dip a brighter green color than I had expected, but the flavor was great. The garlic and marinated artichokes really complement each other. I served this with slices of toasted baguette, and had an empty dish at the end of the evening. I have used several other artichoke dip recipes, but this was tops.
