Hot Chocolate With Rum

This decadent recipe is by Christophe Côte, Les Fermes de Marie's chef in the fashionable French town of Megève. Perfect to serve to guests after Christmas dinner on a cold winter night!

    In a medium saucepan, combine the milk with the cream and rum and bring to a simmer over moderate heat. Remove the pan from the heat, add the chocolate and let stand until melted.

    Whisk until smooth, pour into warmed mugs and serve.

I used a mix of skim milk and light cream and heavy cream. So very yummy. Will definitly make again. Made for Comfort Cafe tag an 2009

    MMMMMM...deliciously naughty! Had two and loved both and slept like a baby! What's not to love--warm half & half *am I bad or what?*, rum,chocolate, and whipped cream. Thanks for posting this belly-warmer, Cheryl!

    OH MY my my my..... These are wonderful...I made them 'virgin' for those who didn't want to try them w/rum...and then added 2 tbls in each cup for the rest of us WHOOPS!! Thank you Cheryl for the perfect warm 'er' up 'er' !!

    Wow! This was extremely rich and chocolaty without being bitter or chalky. I liked that the rum was not overpowering as well. Wonderful! Thank you.
