Hot Baked Cinnamon Apples

Recipe #77666 | 50 min | 5 min prep | add private note

These cinnamon apples taste like a cobbler or pie without the crust. I was looking for a recipe for Cinnamon apples and all I could find were recipes for baking the whole apple - not what I wanted. After much searching I finally came across this recipe - I unfortunately cannot remember the site. It can easily be reduced to 2 or 3 apples, just watch it as it cooks. We serve this over ice cream and it is delicious. It can also be used on pancakes, waffles, or all by itself.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Place cut and peeled apples in a mixing bowl and gently mix all the ingredients together.
  2. 2
Put apples in a non-stick pan, and cook covered for 45 minutes at 375°F.
  3. 3
Stir at least once every 15 minutes.
  4. 4
Once they are soft, cook for another few minutes to thicken the cinnamon sauce.
  5. 5
I like to put everything into my baking dish and then mix it since there is less to clean up.

Really good and very easy to make. I mixed everything in a casserole dish that I cooked it in, made clean up very easy. I left out the lemon juice and salt. I think I could have decreased the brown sugar to 1/2 or 3/4 cup without affecting the taste. I was in a hurry and cooked this in the microwave for 15 min, it came out great!

I was a cooks help in the cafeteria at my college, and we would make this all the time, and it was always gone in no time. Im glad I finally found the recipe!

I scaled the recipe down for 4 servings, and wished that I hadn't! This was a wonderful, and tasty way to cook apples. I made the recipe as you directed, but I did substitue Splenda for the brown sugar for DH's diabetic diet. The recipe is easy to prepare, and such a wonderful treat for us. I will definately make this again. Thanks so much for sharing your recipe.

OH My. these were delicious as you said it taste just like an apple pie without the crust. Delicious with ice cream or without. I love cinnamon and this fit the bill. I used Granny smith apples. Baked at 350 degrees for about 50 minutes. Thank you for sharing the recipe, I will be making these instead of regular baked apples.
