Easy to make and a great cost saver compared to store bought kind. Adjust seasonings to your own tastes.

7 cups (change servings and units)

Ingredients

    Preheat oven to 300 degrees.

    Dice fresh bread, leaving crust on.
  3. 3
    Put diced bread in a large mixing bowl and add all the remaining ingredients.
  4. 4
    Toss well to coated, then spread evenly on two cookie sheets with sides.
  5. 5
    Bake 30 minutes, then turn croutons over with spatula; cook 30 minutes longer and let cool.

    Store in airtight container for several weeks.

These were awesome! I used olive oil instead of butter. They only took 25 minutes to crisp up, any longer and they would have burned. I did 10 minutes on one side, then flipped them and did 10 more minutes... they weren't quite done, so I left them in about 5 more minutes, but even that was a little too long.

    These are so delicious and easy, I don't think I will ever buy croutons again. Great for company, really looks like you slaved in the kitchen!

    WOW , this is the first time making croutons and I AM SO HAPPY WITH THE RESULTS! I didn't use the garlic because I didn't have any but they were WONDERFUL without it! WOW WOW WOW! Defintely making these like every week! Also, VERY easy to make!

    I have been saying for a long time that I am going to make my own croutons because alot of the ones that come from the stores are not fit to eat.So I'm glad I chose this recipe.I did not have any Parmesan cheese on hand so that was the only thing I omitted.I also added about 1 tsp of italian seasoning.They were perfect.They look like the store bought but taste so much better!Thanks for posting the recipe,Candy C.
