Recipe #197810 | 34 min | 30 min prep | add private note

From The Great Big Burger Book. Be careful not to overcook.

SERVES 4 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Brooklyn Ketchup

Directions

  1. 1
Make the ketchup: in a bowl, whisk the ketchup ingredients together; let stand for an hour or so (refrigerate if not ready to use after 1-2 hours).
  2. 2
Make the burgers: in a bowl, gently mix the buffalo meat, garlic, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
  3. 3
Form mixture into 4 patties, each 3/4-inch thick.
  4. 4
Lightly oil the grill or skillet over med-high heat; cook burgers 1 ½-2 minutes per side for medium rare or to desired degree of doneness (ground buffalo cooks faster than ground beef).
  5. 5
Serve cooked patties on sesame seed buns; top patties with Brooklyn Ketchup.

These are probably some of the best burgers I have had in a long time. I loved the taste of them, and the sauce was excellent! I made homemade hambuger buns (40-Minute Hamburger Buns) and served the burgers with Garlic Broccoli Spears. I didn't need to put anything else on the burgers - they're perfect! Thanks, this recipe is a keeper!

We loved these burgers. Loaded with flavor and DH really enjoyed the ketchup with the tobasco. These were very juicy and we grilled them approx. 7 minutes.

Hubby loves buffalo, this was my first experience with it and I have to say it was wonderful. The ketchup was great on these, thanks so much!
