This recipe is posted for the ZWT and is adapted from the book “Quick and Healthy “Recipes and Ideas”. ZWT REGION: Caribbean.

SERVES 1 , 1 cup (change servings and units)

Ingredients

  • 1/2 small banana
  • 1/2 cup skim milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
  • 2 ice cubes (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon sugar (or artificial sweetener to taste)

Directions

  1. 1
    Blend first 4 ingredients until smooth.

    Sweeten to taste.

I used almond milk and didn't have almond extract so used vanilla. Thanks for a yummy, healthy breakfast drink!

    I love it! Except I used 2 % milk, vanilla extract, 1 tablespoon peanut butter, 3/4 banana, unsweetened cocoa and thats it no sugar or ice added. Thanks for the recipe

    I liked this, although I needed to add the other half of the banana for a little more fullness and to balance the almond flavor, thanks.

    This is a keeper... best banana smoothie ever. I doubled it and added 2TBS vanilla soy protein powder. Healthy and yummy !
