Healthy Apple Crisp

This is a recipe I have created to be lower in sugar and higher in fiber. It is also the best in flavor I think. I use golden delicious apples. I sweeten with Splenda brown sugar blend. To use regular brown sugar, you will have to use more. I bake for 90 minutes because we like the oats crisp and the apples caramelized.

SERVES 10 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

  • 7-8 large apples, sliced thin
  • 1/4 cup Splenda brown sugar blend
  • 4 tablespoons flour
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Topping

Directions

  1. 1
    In large bowl mix apples with brown sugar, flour, cinnamon and spice. Mix well.

    Put into buttered large baking dish.
  3. 3
    In large bowl mix topping ingredients well, including butter.
  4. 4
    Sprinkle topping over apples in baking dish.
  5. 5
    Bake at 350°F for 60 to 90 minutes depending how you like, soft or crispy.
