Halloween Brain Dip

Recipe #262423 | 5 min | 5 min prep | add private note

Oct 31, 2007

So spooky and delicious. A fun way to display veggies and dip during Halloween.

SERVES 10 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
    Wash cauliflower.
  2. 2
Cut florets from the top of the cauliflower until you have a cauliflower 'bowl'.
  3. 3
Remove greens from bottom. Cut stems from radishes, leave the root which will look like an optic nerve, and remove skin but leave a little to resemble blood shot eyes/veins.
  4. 4
Hollow out the cut end of the radish with the tip of a knife so to stuff with olive. Use a toothpick to hold everything together.
  5. 5
Line your "bowl" with aluminum foil or a clear cling wrap so dip doesn't escape.
  6. 6
Fill cauliflower with dip, garnish with radish 'eyes', pepper nose and onion mouth, and serve with veggies and crackers.

This was fabulous fun! 2 of the kids had to be enticed to eat it because it was so real looking. I used pomogranite juice.

This was a great centerpiece for my veggies. I didn't make a face out of it though. I made a hole in the top (couldn't really get it large enough to hold a lot of dip, but it was okay.) Then I used red cake decorating gel and oozed it along the lines of the cauliflower. I used a spinach dip and a whole container of red food coloring mixed in to make it look as bloody as possible.
